As most of you know, we spent the summer traveling throughout Central
America looking for and photographing models. That venture had mixed
success, considering the amount of traveling and the fact we ran into
a few problems.
Of primary note was having our harddrive destroyed by an erupting volcano
during a tropical storm in Guatemala. Yup, but at least we didn't die.
That's a plus. That was sometime after we had to leap from a moving
truck (also not good for equipment) and almost had to fight 10 guys
in Honduras, one of whom had a machine gun. Luckily, they backed down
to the both of us. Damn loco gringos, I suppose. heh heh. We also killed
a camera in Costa Rica, lost one somewhere in Panama and lost a charger
in El Salvador. Nothing catastrophic in Belize, although we missed the
Guatemalan invasion and gun-downs at the border by just one day.
Although this has nothing do to with equipment failure, I did sink
in a kayak about 1.5 miles from the nearest shore of Bocas Del Toro,
Panama. That was fun. Did I mention the slew of jellyfish that
were also inhabiting every square yard of the top 10 feet of ocean during
that time (they were attracted to the surface by the earlier cooling
rain)? That was also fun... well until that one swam up my shorts. That
sucked.
Also as most of you know, I temporarily closed my site during travels,
since I would be unavailable to handle orders. After I returned, I decided
I would reformat and/or redesign the site before relaunching. Unfortunately,
I've been too busy to redesign my site, so I'm concentrating on filling
orders through email request only. If I can help you with anything,
please feel free to email me at the address below. Thanks!
